I’ve been blogging for a month now, and thought it might be nice to have a sort of introduction (besides my about me) with a few facts to learn about yours truly!

After you read this post, I hope that understand a little more about who I am and connect with me on a more personal level. And of course, I want to know about you as well so drop a comment below with some fun facts about yourself (or if you have a similar post, point me to it)!
Alright, let’s get started!
13 Things
1 | SORRY, I’M ALREADY BOOKED!
When I was a kid and my friends were dreaming of being ballerinas and princesses…I was writing books (and reading them). I’ve wanted to be an author my entire life. My first ever “book” was about pigs and their adventure in the city. I continued churning out silly kids books and novel outlines up until high school, when it was not “cool” to be a writer and that dream quickly died. Which leads me to my second fact…
2 | WRITER’S BLOCK
…I’ve never really written a book. 30 page e-books, tiny kids books, blogs, poetry, essays and short stories, yes, but not a novel which is my dream. Someday I hope! I’d love to write and illustrate a kids book for my daughter as well!
3 | THE ART OF THE MATTER
My second love from childhood is art. I’ve never been “good” at it in the conventional sense, but I love it therapeutically. I dabble in every medium (literally), but I always seem to find my way back to acrylic painting with oils as a close second! Ironically, my mom who introduced me to art and is insanely talented, doesn’t use acrylic and never taught me oils either.
4 | DON’T LOSE FOCUS
My third love from childhood is photography. I’ve worked in photojournalism in local newspapers, photo studios and freelanced as a portrait photographer. I got one class shy of a photography degree before switching to graphic design instead due to a traumatic event causing me to drop out of the semester. I decided to take the credits I had and leave instead of redoing the semester. (I ended up going back to school for a different degree later though)
5 | KEEPING IT LOKI
I’m a geek in every sense of the word. I hate stereotypes but it is what it is. I love video games, table top board games, I read comic books, I’m a diehard DC bombshell fan, gobble up every sci-fi show, and collect art toys to say the least.
6 | BAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE
I love baking! I make the beeeessst baked donuts you’ll ever taste, my chocolate chip cookie recipe will make you weep, and my Carmel apple pie is perfection. Seriously. I usually make a recipe 5-10 times before I call it perfect, but when it gets there…it’s worth the wait. I’ve been working on a cookbook for a year… Maybe that will be my first book?
7 | INTROVERTS UNITE (IN THEIR OWN HOMES)
I’m super introverted and a major homebody. I love the comfort of my own bed, the soft pillows on my own couch, the fuzzy rug in my rooms…plus all of our games are here and it takes so much energy to pick some out and lug them around to play with friends and family haha. I love adventures but I love being home with my family more.
8 | KEEP ON TREKKING
Speaking of adventures, my husband makes everything into an adventure. We’re one of those “weird” couples that does everything together. In fact we met at work in the cafeteria, so we even carpooled together and spent lunch breaks together while we were dating! We do chores together, grocery shop together, errands together…he makes life fun, and we end up at hole-in-the-wall restaurants, tiny shops, and find art galleries in the weirdest places!
9 | YODA ONE FOR ME
…And speaking of my husband, we eloped on the beach in front of immediate family only just days before our one year anniversary of dating. Everyone said we were crazy, in fact a close friend said we weren’t even a “real couple yet”. But I wouldn’t change it for anything. He’s my best friend, my better half, my partner in crime, adventure buddy, favorite person, and the father to my babies. (And by babies I mean my daughter and our two fur-children)!
10 | SO CORN-FUSED
I was vegetarian for the first 23 years of my life. Never forced, my mom was vegetarian, and my dad a meat eater so I had a choice. I just hated the taste and texture of meat. I occasionally tried it over the years because people often challenged me I hadn’t tasted their cooking. And always regretted it (due to the taste and the enzymes killing me). However after a couple years of major medical issues and anemia causing multiple blood transfusions in a very short amount of time, a doctor recommended trying meat (since I was open to it). Bacon saved my life and I’ve never looked back!
11 | TOO GHOUL FOR SCHOOL
I occasionally take classes at the local community college. I love learning and never want to stop! No plans to get another degree (right now anyway), but I love soaking up knowledge. Most recently I took a recreational hospitality class, it was so much fun and so interesting!
12 |GONE SQUATCHING
I’m obsessed with all things Cryptozooloy! I’m definitely not gullible and rarely take encounters for fact, but I love hearing about them and learning about different cryptids, anything supernatural or alien. I have about a dozen podcasts talking about all things ‘unexplained’ that I listen to every week – I should probably share a list of my favorites someday!
13 | ONCE A PUN A TIME…
If you haven’t already noticed…I love puns. The cheesier the better, and my poor husband gets the brunt of it. Sometimes we have full conversations back and forth with puns. He gets me. 🙂
